IS THIS PROOF THAT COLLEGES ARE ANTI-AMERICAN? A new survey shows that kids become MUCH less patriotic after they go to college. Hmmm, I wonder why? If there is any hope for our country we have to get people who believe in this great American experiment in the classroom at the college level NOW.
UH-OH, IS HERD IMMUNITY EVEN POSSIBLE WITH CORONAVIRUS? This is very, very bad news if it's accurate. Spanish doctors are saying that in their country where they had a HUGE outbreak, they are not seeing high levels of coronavirus antibodies. This means the antibodies may not last very long. This is very, very bad news indeed.
AND YET I'M NOT SUPER EXCITED ABOUT A RUSHED VACCINE I have to say after the miserable reaction I had to the Shingles vaccine, I am not going to jump in line first for a coronavirus vaccine. Especially because of what I just wrote in the above paragraph. The federal government is throwing $1.6 BILLION behind a vaccine maker who has something in the pipeline and asking them to try and get it ready for next spring. Does anyone else have concerns that this isn't going to end well?

ONE OF THE NATION'S LEADING MINORITY CHARTER SCHOOLS JUST MADE A TERRIBLE MISTAKE And it seems simple enough. KIPP Academies, whose network of charter schools serves mostly minority students in areas where they lag behind, has decided it's motto since 1994, Work Hard, Be Nice, is a nod to white supremacy. How else could you interpret this statement:
“We are retiring ‘Work hard. Be nice.’ as Kipp’s national slogan; it diminishes the significant effort to dismantle systemic racism, places value on being compliant and submissive, supports the illusion of meritocracy, and does not align with our vision of students being free to create the future they want.”
Got that? Now working hard and being nice "supports the illusion of meritocracy". I'm going to say something unpopular, but if we decide working hard and being nice are somehow only for white people, black people will never really succeed. And it won't be racisms fault, it will be the racist assumption that when tried, they don't work. Because I can assure you they do.
