I LOVE A GOOD FUNNY VIDEO IN A CAMPAIGN But the video that is making the headlines today is not either of those adjectives. Someone thought it would be cool, in an era where we have far too many mass shooting, to take the ultra violent scene from The Kingsman and make it a Trump video of him killing all of this "opponents" in the media and politics. AURARIA CAMPUS STUDENTS DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH HOMELESS PEOPLE TAKING OVER and I'm interested to see what happens here as the various schools that use the campus in downtown Denver probably don't want too many potential students reading this. Seems students are concerned about homeless people pooping on campus and holing up in student buildings and whatnot. Someone should explain that this is the result of compassionate policies they likely endorse.
THIS ENTIRE STUDY HAS TO BE A LIE Someone studied which cities have the best and worst drivers using things like DUIs, speeding tickets and whatnot. Denver is one of the top 10 worse cities to drive in. Okay that might be accurate. However, they have Fort Myers as ONE OF THE BEST. I've lived there and this is a complete lie. Wait a minute, old people driving 20 miles BELOW the speed limit probably don't get tickets. That must be it.
DOES IT MATTER IF PANERA FREEZES THEIR MAC AND CHEESE? Apparently it matters enough that when a worker filmed herself dropping the boil-in-bag mac and cheese into a vat of hot water and then serving it she lost her job. Good grief people, it's mac and cheese, they aren't curing cancer. But just a fun fact, if you have a job you like (which she said she did) don't give up company secrets on the internet. You will get fired.
RTD'S BOND RATING HAS BEEN DROPPED And this is one of those things that people who watch such things make note of as a very bad thing. Especially because there is no real way to bring it back up any time soon. Is RTD going to make it? We'll see.
WATCHING US COMPANIES BOW AND SCRAPE TO THE CHI COMS IS DISGUSTING And one of the flaws in the capitalist system, imo. It would be nice if these large corporations would stand up to the Chinese and know that we American citizens would support those who do. I'm looking at you Nike. This column takes it one step further and asks why America should give any deference to companies who clearly don't give a crap about supporting American ideals around the world. From the column:
Maybe the monopoly Delta enjoys at its regional hubs in Atlanta, Detroit, and Minneapolis should be up for negotiation. Maybe we should rethink the billions in federal subsidies that go to every major U.S. airline that kowtows to communist China.
Same goes for Apple, and Disney, and all the global firms that do the PRC’s bidding. If Apple’s Tim Cook, who a few years ago publicly defended his decision not to help the FBI’s investigation of a terrorist attack on U.S. soil, is going to pull apps Hong Kong protestors use to defy the state, maybe it’s time to stop giving Apple millions in sales tax subsidies every year.
In other words, if these companies don’t owe any allegiance to America, why should America owe allegiance to them? There’s more to the life of a nation than its commerce, and some things really are worth fighting for. The struggle for freedom in Hong Kong is one of them. If these companies can’t bring themselves to cast their lots openly with America and the Chinese people against the tyranny of the Chinese Communist Party, then we owe them nothing but contempt.
